This picture shows the best practice for installing a hydraulic squeeze chute. Recess the concrete four inches. This makes the floor of the squeeze chute level with the ground floor. Cattle have poor depth perception, and stepping up into the squeeze chute causes balking (see the blog “Do your cattle stop at the squeeze chute”).
