Place the inner sleeve of the top hinge into the top of the gate

Place the inner sleeve of the top hinge into the top of the gate and line it up in the same position on the post as the bottom hinge. (Note: For expansion, it is a good idea to leave a small space between the bottom of the channel iron hinge and the top of the gate post). Weld the top and bottom of the channel iron hinges securely to the gate post.
